Motiva offers adaptive, per-contact send time optimization (STO). We'll figure out the optimal send time strategy for every contact in your Contact DB and send at the perfect time. Here's how to use it.
Before you begin, you'll need to make sure your Eloqua account is a member of the API Users Security Group (no admin role required). If you're not sure, just ask your Eloqua admin.
Replace existing Eloqua Email step with the Motiva Send Time AI component. This step will run with any bulk-style campaign, where you have a predetermined Segment population flowing into the Motiva step. You'll see a new custom Action Service with our logo that looks like this:
Hit the Pencil icon to configure the step as you would an Email step. The first thing is to give the optimizer a name and then to choose how contacts come in: Bulk vs Drip. See this article to learn more about how to make this decision.
You will also need to select the email to send from your asset library (above) and any other optional settings you'd like (below).
Save and activate your campaign. Motiva AI will automatically use a combination of historical open behavior and ongoing experimentation to determine the optimal send time -- in order to increase the likelihood of opens. If contacts display new open preferences, Motiva AI will listen and adapt. No manual intervention is required. Best of all, Motiva will use anything it learns in future campaigns, where you use Motiva Send Time AI.
This step operates independently of timezone settings. That means you no longer need to worry about locating contacts' time zones in order to optimize sends! Motiva adapts to the preferences of each individual contact, wherever they are in the world.
NOTE: If your email must be delivered in less than a week, do not use Motiva Send Time AI. It can take up to a week to send the email to all contacts, since Motiva Send Time AI uses the optimal send time for each contact.
