Misclassified Bouncebacks are a population of Contacts that have bounced and should be given special treatment in order to prevent deliverability issues and improve overall performance. Your Marketing Automation platform has determined these bouncebacks to be temporary send failures. Motiva Tags help you identify bouncebacks that are misclassified and should be treated as permanent failures or further diagnosed.

Bouncebacks - Permanent Failures

The following Motiva Tags indicate bouncebacks that should be treated as permanent failures and be flagged as invalid, purged or excluded from future email campaigns. In addition, for domains that represent customers or high value prospects, consider aligning with your sales organization or your data enrichment provider to replace Contacts that are no longer valid.

  • No Recipient

  • Blacklisted

  • Blocked By Recipient

  • General Access Denied

  • Mailbox Full

Bouncebacks - Analyze Further

The following Motiva Tags indicate bouncebacks that should be analyzed further. Depending on your risk tolerance, the quality and value of the email domain and the detailed bounceback message, Contacts may be "snoozed", flagged as invalid, purged or excluded from future email campaigns. In addition, a review of your email content, IP reputation and DNS configuration may be necessary to prevent these bouncebacks from occurring in the future.

  • Spam

  • Generic Not Authorized

  • SPF Policy Violation
