THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN DEPRECATED.
Please refer to other help pages for the latest Motiva AI features.

When configuring Motiva AI, you will need to choose how contacts come in: Bulk vs. Drip. These options behave quite differently, so you need to understand how they work. The good news is that it's not that difficult to understand the difference.

Bulk

With Bulk, contacts should be added to the Motiva AI component only once. Motiva AI will spread the contacts between the start and stop dates.

In this case, the Eloqua segment(s) feeding into the Motiva AI component should be configured to: "Add members once when the campaign is first activated."

Bulk is normally used with campaigns like Newsletters, Product Updates, and Invitations, when the population is known ahead of time.

Drip

With Drip, contacts are added to the Motiva AI component as they come in. Motiva AI will process these contacts immediately upon receiving them from Eloqua.

The Eloqua segment(s) feeding into the Motiva AI component should be configured to: "Add members regularly until campaign is deactivated."

Drip is normally used with campaigns like Lead Nurturing and On-boarding, when the population is not known when the campaign starts.

NOTE: If you are using Drip with Motiva Send Time AI, know that it can take up to a week to send an email after a contact arrives from Eloqua. This is because Motiva Send Time AI uses the optimal send day and time for each contact.
